1. About these terms
These terms are between you and MCP Electrical Services Pty Ltd (ABN 21 692 896 227, NSW Licence 491647C) ("MCP Electrical", "we", "us"). By using our website, submitting an enquiry or referral form, or using a link we send you, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you don't agree, please call us on 0468 067 453 instead.
When we quote and do work for you, the terms on your quote also apply. If they differ from these terms, the terms on your quote apply to that job.
2. Our website and online forms
- Information on our website (including guides, prices, estimates and calculators) is general information only. It isn't a quote or advice for your property until we've confirmed the details.
- Please give us accurate details and photos. Quotes are based on what you tell us and show us; see section 3.
- We try to keep the website and our online links available and accurate, but we don't guarantee they'll always be available or error-free.
- Don't misuse our website or forms, for example by submitting false details or someone else's details without their permission.
3. Quotes
- Our quotes are fixed-price for the work described, and are valid for the period shown on the quote.
- Quotes prepared from photos and answers you provide assume the site matches them. If we find something on site that wasn't visible or disclosed (for example the switchboard needs upgrading, a longer cable run, or existing faults), we'll explain it and agree any change in price with you before doing the extra work.
- Some work may need approval from your electricity distributor or other authority. Timeframes depend on them.
- Accepting a quote online (by ticking and accepting through your quote link) is the same as accepting it in writing.
4. Doing the work
- Please give us safe, clear access to the work area and let us know about any hazards, pets or access instructions.
- We may decline or pause work we believe is unsafe, or that can't be done to Australian Standards, and we'll tell you why.
- We're responsible for the work we do. We're not responsible for existing faults or wiring we haven't worked on, although we'll tell you about any defects we notice.
- Where the law requires it, we lodge a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work (CCEW) for the work we've done.
5. Payment
- Unless your quote says otherwise, invoices are due when issued. We'll send reminders for unpaid invoices.
- Goods we supply remain our property until they're paid for in full.
- Prices are in Australian dollars. GST is shown on your quote and invoice.
6. Warranties and your consumer rights
Our workmanship warranty is set out on your quote. Products such as chargers carry their manufacturer's warranty. Our goods and services also come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, and nothing in these terms limits those rights.
To the extent the law allows, and apart from those guarantees, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss (such as loss of income), and our liability for a failure to comply with a consumer guarantee is limited to re-supplying the services, or paying the cost of having them re-supplied, where the law allows us to limit it that way.
7. Contacting you
By sending us an enquiry or being referred to us, you agree that we can contact you by phone, SMS and email about your enquiry, quote and job, including reminders and follow-ups. Calls may be recorded and transcribed; we'll tell you when they are. You can stop SMS at any time by replying STOP, and ask us not to send follow-ups.
8. Referrals and partners
Some customers come to us through referral partners, such as car dealerships, builders and other trades. When a referred customer goes ahead with a job, we may give the referring partner a referral credit or similar benefit. This doesn't change the price you pay, and partners don't set or see our prices.
If you were referred by a partner (including by scanning their QR code), we'll let that partner know how your enquiry is progressing — for example "quote sent" or "installed". We don't share your quote, prices or payment details with them. See our privacy policy.
9. Partner portal (for referral partners)
If you're a business using our partner portal to refer customers:
- Only refer people who have agreed to be contacted by us, and enter their details accurately. You're responsible for having their permission to give us their details.
- Keep your login to yourself. Each person at your business should have their own. Let us know straight away if someone leaves or a login may have been misused.
- Progress information in the portal is for following up your own customers only. Don't use it for any other purpose or share it outside your business.
- Referral credit is earned when a referred job is completed, belongs to your business (not an individual), and can only be used by your nominated manager in the ways shown in the portal. It has no cash value except as offered there, can't be transferred, and may be reversed if a job is cancelled, refunded or not paid.
- There's no cost, contract or minimum. Either of us can stop at any time. We may change or end the programme, its rewards, or your access, but we'll honour credit already earned for completed jobs unless it was obtained improperly.
- You don't act for MCP Electrical and can't make promises on our behalf about prices, timeframes or the work.
10. General
